Your First Visit

Your first visit

If you’re planning on visiting our office for the first time, we’ve compiled a bit of information to make sure that you are ready, and confident in your very first visit to Comfort Family Dental in Shrewsbury, NJ.

What to expect

The first visit to a dentist office can be quite daunting, so we here in the office had devised a plan to make sure you and the members of your family always feel safe, even on your first visit. Typically, we’ll start with an office tour, if you so desire, so that you become well aware and familiar with where things are located in the office. Then, a cleaning will be conducted by one of our highly trained dental hygienists to better get to know the layout of your mouth and the condition of your teeth. Next, the thorough examination of your teeth will be conducted by Dr. Gelfand so he can become aware of any dental problems you may be facing, thoroughly read your dental x-rays, and offer any suggestions for improving your overall dental health.

He will also do a check of your head, neck, and throat to identify any cancers, surgeries, or treatments that may benefit you in the future.

Why coming to the dentist is so important

Consistently coming to the dentist is so important as you may have already been told. Twice a year, coming to the dentist can give you and your doctor a better idea about the state of your general health. Regularly checking for cancer, any movement of your teeth, and the state of your gums will keep you healthy for a long time coming.
